A Virtual Oktoberfest

webtoberfest

It's time for Oktoberfest!

You probably don’t know this about me, but I’ve spent a few years in Germany, been to even more Oktoberfest celebrations, speak German fluently, and even taught it at the university level.

I don’t say this to brag. I say this for you to understand my love for this time of year, ein Mass (beer stein), and a good old communal chant of “Sweet Caroline”!

But how do we celebrate properly this year, Nic?

I hear your concerns. I was worried about this myself. My lederhosen hadn’t even been unpacked yet.

That was until Karen, aka “German Girl in America”, reached out and asked me how her event Webtoberfest 2020 could include German/European foodtrucks.

Oktoberfest Lederhosen for a food truck

Of course I said that Where’s The Foodtruck would love to help focus on our amazing German/European foodtrucks for her event. Then I checked out the event.

Webtoberfest is pretty cool, y’all. There’s an interactive map to find the best places to buy German wares, beer, food, travelling & accommodations, dirndl and lederhosen shops, even authentic recipes.

We’ve decided to make October 3rd the official foodtruck day. It also happens to be German Unity Day (Tag der deutschen Einheit), so that’s cool, too.

So, the WTF crew will be hustling daily to add as many foodtrucks as possible that can meet your Oktoberfest needs. Webtoberfest will be planning out some fun activities and celebrations, and the foodtrucks will be cooking away on their wurstchen, pretzels, schnitzel, and more!

Y’all bookmark the Webtoberfest page and follow along. And, on October 3rd, let’s all get out and visit a german foodtruck in our finest Oktoberfest garb!
